Tucson Unified Superintendent Dr. Trujillo recently visited our school!

Meet Ally Kittle, the dedicated school counselor at Lynn-Urquides! Ally has been part of the community for nearly two years, making a lasting impact on students and staff.
Ally grew up in Prescott, Arizona, before heading to Flagstaff to earn a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northern Arizona University. Her journey then brought her to Tucson, where she completed her master’s degree in counseling at the University of Arizona in May 2024.
Ally first joined the Lynn-Urquides team as an intern in August 2023. At the time, the school had gone nearly a year without a counselor, so her arrival was met with open arms. Now, in her first year as a certified counselor, Ally is thriving in her full-time role.
When asked about her favorite part of being a counselor, Ally lights up. “Getting to be here with the kids is the best part of every day. I don’t leave this place without getting at least 30 hugs. Being part of their educational journey and their lives is really special.”
Ally emphasizes the importance of having a full-time counselor on campus. “Kids go through so many changes — in their families, friendships, and personal lives. Having someone they can talk to, or just a space to cool off, encourages them to open up about their mental health. It helps break the stigma and teaches them it’s okay to be vulnerable as they grow into adulthood.”
Outside of work, Ally loves spending time with her dog Ziggy, a unique Chihuahua-Italian Greyhound mix with three legs. Together, they enjoy exploring Tucson’s parks and soaking up the sunshine. Ally is also an avid reader and appreciates all that Tucson’s community has to offer.
Fun fact! As a teenager, Ally was a foreign exchange student in Zeitz, a small town in eastern Germany. Her experience there offered her a unique cultural perspective, and she fondly recalls being asked if she rode a horse to school!
